Museumsnacht St. Gallen. Sept. 6. 2014

Museum Night seemed like a good opportunity to poke around St. Gallen for the first time. I barely scratched the surface and with time a premium, I opted to save the Kunst Museum and Kunst Halle for a later date. I liked a lot of what I saw and below are some of the high lights.

My first stop was the Galerie Sonja Bänziger. In a small room downstairs, a fantastic installation by Mexican artist, Raquel Corona focused on hand molded, clay shoes of migrant children.

One of the centre pieces of the evening was the Macelleria D'Arte with it's inimitable host Francesco Bonanno.
Inside was a group show featuring Argentine Artists.

Outside saw a visit form the Berlin group, So Nice Development with a 'robotic, live drawing installation'.

The Keller der Rose housed work by St. Gallen collective FAd. & Marc Moser entitled rouge, cafe et cigarette & the pink case.

The rouge in this case was the residue from betel nut chewing, alongside work produced solely from the more commonplace western crutches: coffee and cigarettes.

My final stop was the Galerie Paul Hafner. The 2 person show called draw and paint showcased fantastic painting by Thomas Muff and Adalbert Fässler.

On my way out, spotted a Mark Staff Brandl work in the halls of the Kunst Halle
