The Return of Harry White.
'Harry White' first appeared in 2009 in the pieces, Self-Portrait of Harry White I & II.
Six years on, and he has surfaced again, in two new pieces that will feature in my next show in Switzerland.
''Die gemalten Schleier' (the Painted Veil). opens on June 12th at. Macelleria d’Arte in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
The original two works are available for viewing at Coup d'Oeil Art Consortium in New Orleans (USA).

Rik Beemsterboer - Down Town. Galerie Paul Hafner, May 15 2025.
Rik Beemsterboer is a Dutch artist now living in Switzerland. This is his third solo show at Paul Hafner in Saint Gallen.

Ich stelle eine neue Serie Bilder in Galerie Paul Hafner aus.
„down town“ ist eine Serie Bilder, gewidmet an die Stadt St. Gallen.
Es ist die Stadt, in der ich wohne, arbeite und mich wohl fühle.
Jeden Tag fahre ich durch die Stadt und sehe die St. Galler und St. Gallerinnen zur Arbeit fahren, den öffentlichen Verkehr benützen, ihre Einkäufe machen, flanieren oder relaxen mit einem Getränk auf einer Terrasse. Was mich interessiert sind diese Plätze und Strassen voll mit Menschen: Leute die sich treffen und Gespräche führen, ihre Besorgungen machen oder Touristen die sich die Stadt anschauen.
An einem Samstagmorgen im Sommer habe ich Snapshots rund um den Klosterplatz, den Marktplatz, den Roten Platz und die Einkaufsstrassen zwischen diesen drei Plätzen gemacht. Diese Fotos sind die Grundlage für meine neue Bilder.
Vielleicht ist es eine kleine Ode an diese Stadt.

" down town " is a series of paintings, dedicated to the city of Saint Gallen. It is the city where I live, work and feel comfortable .
Everyday I drive through this city and see the people going to work, use public transport, do their shopping, or relax with a drink on a terrace. What interests me are these squares and streets full of people, who meet, do their errands or tourists visiting the city.
On a Saturday morning last summer, I made snapshots around the „Klosterplatz“, the market square, „The Red Square“ and the shopping streets between these three places. These photos are the basis for my new paintings.
Maybe it's a little ode to this city.
